Announcements from OSU Extension
In 2025–26, local Extension programming in Josephine County resumed following a one-year pause in the county’s funding partnership with the Oregon State University Extension Service. During this bridge year, we have been focused on rebuilding local 4-H and Master Gardener programs and strengthening community partnerships.
Regional Extension faculty have resumed service, providing research-based educational services and programming in Josephine County. We are also working with a local advisory council to rebuild relationships and establish shared priorities with the county.
Our commitment to serving Josephine County remains strong. We will continue working with elected officials and community members to sustain local funding through the service district and maintain Extension programs and services.
2025–27 budget process and opportunities for public input
Maintaining a local funding partnership requires the Josephine County Board of Commissioners, serving as the governing body of the 4-H/Extension Service District, to approve a budget, allocate funding, and establish an intergovernmental agreement with OSU. This process occurs annually through the county’s budget cycle, with collaboration between OSU Extension and the county finance director (who serves as the service district budget officer).

Upcoming meetings (all at 9 a.m.):
- June 4: 4-H/Extension Service District Budget Committee meeting (review and recommendation)
- June 17: Budget Public Hearing
- June 24: Budget Adoption (final vote)
