Mark Jones
Chair

I grew up in the Murphy area and graduated from Hidden Valley High School. Started a career in the fire service in 1991 that took me to Scottsdale Arizona for almost 20 years where I retired from the City of Scottsdale Fire Department in 2018 and moved home to Josephine County. Since being back home, I have become involved in various boards and organizations to help Josephine County. Aside from this position as CRG Chair, I’m currently the Chair of the Rural Planning Commission, the Vice Chair of the Josephine Housing and Community Development Council, Vice President of the Merlin Park District Board, Member of Caveman Kiwanis, past member of Grants Pass Rotary Club, and soon to be on the Josephine County Rural Fire Protection District board of directors.

Lynda Demsher
Secretary

Lynda Demsher has a long history with Josephine County even though she's only lived in the area for about 12 years. Her family came here during the Depression to pick fruit and kept from starving by catching salmon out of the Rogue River. They wanted to stay but ended up following the crops to California. Some family members eventually made it back to Southern Oregon and lived in the Medford, Roseburg and Grants Pass areas so she spent a lot of time visiting before finally becoming a resident herself. Lynda, who graduated from Dunsmuir High School and CSU Chico, retired after teaching at the high school level in Shasta and Modoc counties in Northern California after an earlier career reporting the news for a Redding radio station, newspapers in Shasta and Tehama counties, as well as news from the area for the Sacramento Bee.

She lived in Josephine County during the late Nineties and returned in 2018.
