The OSU Extension Cooperative Services agreement has NOT YET been signed! There’s a big difference between what the commissioners would like the public to believe and what they are actually doing. When the board voted to allow the Extension service to resume in Josephine County, many of us believed it was a done deal. It was NOT. No agreement with OSU has been signed, the buildings that were being used are now housing other county offices, no taxes are being collected at this time, which will have repercussions next year, so the uncertainty of funding will affect recruiting staff and volunteers, and there are probably many more issues to be resolved.

The first step to supporting gettin OSU Extension Services back up and running is for the public to get information and background in order to understand how our commissioners are addressing the issues. There’s a wide gap between what it seems like is happening and what the actions being taken are. Making commissioners’ actions public, then expressing our needs as citizens can ensure that the program doesn’t die because actions have been delayed.

You can begin by streaming (or watching on Youtube after the meetings are over, which means you can fast forward through whatever you like). August 19 1:30 pm is the Commissioners Business Meeting. See below for how to access the meetings.
