The last weeks of December are supposed to be a respite, a slow transition into the new year and filled with holiday preparations and focused on family and friends. But because of soon-to-be former Commissioner Chris Barnett's false claim about CRG on his Statement of Justification, I also spent the last days of 2025, with the helpful input of my fellow board members, drafting a complaint to the Secretary of State's Elections Division about Barnett’s misrepresentation of CRG's role in his recall. I filed it on December 31st. Several days later, I received a letter from the office saying it has opened an investigation into the matter.
At the end of February, our organization will have completed its first restructured year. The election of a new board will take place at the March general meeting. Descriptions of each position will soon be posted on our website. The term is one year. Consider running for one of the positions. We are a member-driven organization and each position is open. If you have any questions suggestions, please contact me or another board member.
In addition, important local government elections will also be held this year. CRG has a crucial part to play in bringing factual information about each candidate to the voters. I look forward to working with all of you to advocate for responsible local government.
Sincerely,
Jane Slama
