The library lease negotiations MAY BE discussed at the Commissioners Business Meeting Thursday, despite it not appearing on the agenda. Please call and ask if it will be brought up under Other Business. If so, please attend, if possible.

At today’s Commissioners’ Administration Meeting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIJbd9KoWpA (time: 1:06), Blech said he wanted to discuss the counter proposal from the library at a Business Meeting. It was unclear if he meant this week or some time in the future. It is NOT specifically on the agenda.

That was after Ron Smith suggested that library supporters donate $1 per month (time: 1:03) to give to the county. He said that would give the county what it needs and the library what it needs - even though the problem with the lease was not the money, but the termination for convenience clause.

Blech’s claim that such a a termination for convenience is “normal” was disputed in the Daily Courier letters to the editor on August 28 by Pete Knapp, a tax attorney for many years. He believes such a claim ‘calls the veracity of the speaker into question.”

Here we go again!
