Southern Oregon Returned Peace Corps Volunteers are sponsoring a candidate forum for the race for Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Medford Library Large Meeting Room. The room will open at 5:30 PM, the program will begin at 6:00 PM, and we expect to conclude around 8:00 PM, followed by time for informal conversation with the candidates.

The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

All candidates from both parties have been invited. To date, all Democratic candidates have confirmed their participation (except one who is unable to attend due to a work conflict). All Republican candidates were invited. One has confirmed, one has declined due to a work obligation, and one has not responded to our invitation.

This forum, part of National Volunteer Month, focuses its theme on service, including public service, community service, national service programs such as Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and Conservation Corps, as well as humanitarian work, international development, and the role of the United States in serving communities at home and abroad. Join us for this unique opportunity to ask candidates questions about service, civic responsibility, and America’s role in the world, topics that are  often omitted from the focus of campaign forums.

The program will include brief introductions from the candidates, prepared questions from our organization, and questions from the audience. A short meet-and-greet (with light refreshments) will follow, allowing attendees to speak informally with the candidates.
